Silver Extrusion Presses
Precious metal extrusion presses designed and built to your specifications.
Dunaway sells and services new and used silver extrusion presses of all types and sizes. Our most popular size is our 500-ton press, but we also construct extruder machines with higher extrusion force according to the needs of our clients.
Dunaway designs and builds each extrusion press machine at our facility in Canfield, Ohio. Every one of them is created based on the particular needs of our customers. No two customers are alike, and no two extrusion presses are exactly the same!
Every extrusion press is 100% American made with all American controls and subsystems for easy maintenance and availability of spare parts!
Dunaway’s extrusion presses have a forged main cylinder barrel, with front and rear platens made of steel plate. They feature a top leading die holder and a container housing with heating elements, and the hydraulic unit from Rexroth provides the best extrusion speed in the metal extrusion industry. Our presses also have a motor control center and PLC control by Allen Bradley.
All of our presses include detailed drawings of the hydraulic and electrical systems. Our presses are suitable for aluminum, silver, or even custom alloys.
Other available options for your extruder include the following: butt shear, billet loader, die slide, spare stem, spare container, spare dummy block, and a die heater box.

Hydraulic extrusion presses are frequently used in the precious metals industry and by government mints, where coins are created or minted. Hydraulic systems are also used to create gold and silver bullion, known as “bars” to most of the general population. At one time, bullion was used as a source of precious metal to create gold and silver coins for use as currency. Now bullion is used as an investment hedge against currency or inflation risks or to add diversity to an investment portfolio.
